Parenting Support
Endless exhaustion?
Since the day you knew you were having a baby, you’ve read all the books and listened to every expert’s advice in the hope you will bring all happiness to your little cutie. However, life does not go this way. There are days your kid is the most lovely angel in the world. There are more days you feel exhausted even before the end of the day because it takes several prompts to get your kid to do one single action. Oftentimes, it ends up with you yelling at your kid and them bursting into tears and throwing a tantrum. You feel especially embarrassed when your kid has a meltdown in public and feel everyone silently judging you, “this parent doesn’t know how to control the kid. what an irresponsible parent!”
Is there a way to make parenting work?
You tried all the parenting strategies mentioned in the books, TV, and videos to see what works. Some worked temporarily. Others didn’t work at all. You wonder if you have done enough and question if you can really be a good parent. Some nights, you wonder what goes wrong and that your life as a parent is nothing like the one you dreamed of cuddling your kids.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORK ALONE.
I am a trained therapist who supports motivated and caring parents, like you. If your child(ren) is between 2 to 10 years old, I utilize evidence-based treatments, named Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and PC-CARE. Both programs are short-term and I teach you step-by-step how to help your child(ren) manage their frustrations and follow your rules within a few prompts. The ultimate goal is for you to re-experience the joy of your cuddling time.
I also help parents to work together, including co-parents, multi-generational caregivers, parents from blended families, and parents from different cultural backgrounds. You will shift your energy from disagreement and conflict to effective communication and reach consistent expectations, agreed-upon parent duties/tasks, and a family structure that works for all of you.
